Scale
A trillion dollars is not intuitive
SpaceX raised about $75 billion on June 12, 2026 — the largest IPO in history — and closed its first day above $2 trillion.
Gold, silver, and NVIDIA together exceed the annual economic output of most country groupings.
Several private and public assets are close enough to the threshold to track separately.
Methodology
What counts as market capitalization
Public companies
Equity market capitalization is calculated as share price multiplied by shares outstanding. US-listed rows, including SpaceX, refresh hourly from live price feeds through the registry endpoint; configured API keys extend live coverage to non-US listings.
Commodities
Gold and silver are estimated from above-ground supply multiplied by spot price, refreshed hourly from live spot feeds. These are methodology estimates, not exchange-listed market caps.
Cryptoassets
Crypto market capitalization is circulating supply multiplied by the latest traded market price.
Private companies
Private valuations use the latest credible disclosed funding round, fund mark, tender offer, IPO target, or transaction report, and are labeled separately from live public market caps.
